MURRAY SUPPLY COMPANY HOSTS NCPMA BOARD MEETING WITH GUEST SPEAKER RICHARD BURR
Murray Supply Company was honored to be the host site for the North Carolina Plumbing and Mechanical Association’s (NCPMA) 1st Quarter Board Meeting. The meeting was held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Corporate Offices of Murray Supply Company in downtown Winston-Salem. The featured guest speaker of the meeting was United States Senator Richard Burr. Senator Burr spoke to the NCPMA board members about several of the pressing political issues in Washington D.C., and also spoke of issues that are important to the respective industry. Some of these issues included early education and training of trade laborers, the future of healthcare in relation to employees, salary/wages of skilled workers, and the increasing importance of North Carolina to continue to produce talented workers in these fields.
A native of Winston-Salem, Senator Burr is currently serving North Carolina in his second term in the U.S. Senate. In the Senate, Burr serves as a Ranking Member of the Senate Veteran’s Affairs Committee, and sits on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; the Intelligence Committee; and the Finance Committee.
The purpose of the NCPMA is to be the leading resource provider for education, expertise and business enhancement services for the cooling, heating, and plumbing contractors in North Carolina.
